During June / July 2024, I had the opportunity to take part in the We Design for the Community programme. Working with another student, we were paired with local organisation Save the Warehouses to use design to help their cause; the residents-led group has been advocating to save their home, Omega Works, from the threat of building development. 

I created collages and an editorial template for a supplementary planning document that the residents would present to their local council. Typical planning documents are dry and lengthy so I wanted to create graphic elements that were fun and colourful, reflecting the energetic nature of Omega Works. 

In addition to designing a planning document, we created a riso-printed poster to raise awareness on the warehouses. We used minimal bold colours and strong illustrated graphics to create a poster that was eye-catching and playful.
